My Story

I began exploration of spiritual practice at 22 years of age with Kundalini Yoga, focused breathing, and meditation. 20 years ago, I was introduced to a part of my heritage through the Lakota Inipi Purification Ceremony (Sweat Lodge). Perhaps for the first time in my life I felt I was at home. I learned this beautiful life-way and have been facilitating Lakota ceremony for many years, always striving to help others heal and find their way. A teacher chose me to take on the honor and responsibility of carrying a Cannupa (Sacred Pipe) and I have pledged and danced at Sundance; becoming a healer of “The People”. I am honored and hold much gratitude for these things. Walking the earth-medicine path of Niasziih has reinforced my spiritual self and practice by facilitating deeper healing than I realized was possible. In short, Niasziih is profoundly transformative and opening. I am certified by the Good Medicine Society in Good Medicine Philosophy, Wisdom in Living, and Keli, and I am currently studying Natural Medicine. I am also on the planning committee and provide live sound for a Powwows; which I enjoy greatly.

I have always been drawn to music and grew up in a home where music was being listened to regularly. From an early age I began playing saxophone and went on to study jazz, music composition and live sound engineering and recording. I now use these skills at various powwows providing live sound services and recording services. My background in music has been very beneficial in the ceremonies I often engage in. I truly enjoy the simplicity of drum and voice, feeling the deep history of both music and humanity through this way. Sound, in many different forms, is an important part of every healing session.

Over the years I have explored and studied many healing paths, connecting deeply with the Apache Healing Way called Niasziih (Knee-eye-zee-hi); a profoundly deep healing way that addresses universal, global, community, and individual cleansing and healing. This Earth-based medicine is so effective that clients with cancers, heart disease and other life threatening dis-ease seek out Niasziih healers, and many recover and are restored to health. Niasziih is supportive of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual transformation and can be focused specifically to any of these areas of the human vessel, or used in a more general way.

Continued learning, deepening of connection to Wanagi (Spirits and Helpers), Unci Maka (Grandmother Earth) and Clients, and expanding healing abilities, are an important part of my daily life. I have 2 beautiful children and reside in the Piedmont of North Carolina..
